Platio and the brand new flooring system that comes from the future

Several times we have tried to imagine how the cities of tomorrow could interfere with what will be our life and our reality. In the cities of the future, we have already seen that there will probably be no cell phones with batteries.

Today, we want to talk about another novelty that perhaps seems far away from now, but is in fact already being experimented. This is about our home, especially our floors. From Hungary, the flooring system of the future, capable of seemingly, transform the kinetic energy of the steps and other earth’s vibrations into electricity.

The idea comes from a Hungarian society and it consists in applying real-like panels similar to photovoltaic panels over floors. The will behind this idea would be to install 2.0 flooring near residential areas to help with energy saving. To be even more enjoyable, they will be colored and connected by electronic means.

So it comes from whether implementation could be not only private but also public given the constant access of citizenship to sidewalks and roads. The company said the program is called “Platio” and will have an initial power of about 160 watts.

The initial phase

The project is still in the crowdfunding phase, so in an embryonic state, we could say. Although the assumptions can be hoped for as the project seems to have already raised the online community’s favor with a total of € 66,000 funded to date.

The search team tells that Platio implementations could be different, and also fun, like adding display to news and traffic information display.

However, this is not the only idea the team would be working on. Among the “workshop” projects there is a hydrogen energy storage system, flooring that uses holograms and coatings for the exterior facades of buildings.
