Il colpo di calore è uno dei disturbi più comuni e pericolosi per gli animali domestici, la mancata terapia di questo disagio può portare a ulteriori danni nel tempo per l’animale, alcuni di questi anche irreversibili.

L’estate come avrete sicuramente capito dalle temperature afose di questi giorni è ormai alle porte, in vista di temperature che potrebbero solo aumentare ancora di più è necessario prendere qualche accorgimento per i nostri amici pelosetti.

Che si preferisca il mare oppure la montagna è sempre bene prendere in considerazione qualche consiglio utile per far si che anche i nostri migliori amici possano godersi l’estate senza penare troppo per il caldo o per altri pericoli legati alle tempreature come ad esempio il colpo di calore.

I colpi di calore sfortunatamente sono molto comuni in questi periodi afosi, questo disturbo fa apparire il cane generalmente irrequieto e causa nell’animale uno stato di ansia e disagio. Potrebbe in alcuni casi verificarsi un aumento dell’aggressività a causa dello stress dell’animale.

In seguito all’aumento della temperatura interna del corpo il nostro piccolo pelosetto potrebbe cominciare a perdere bava dal naso o dalla bocca, in caso di colpo di calore la priorità è spostare l’animale in un luogo fresco ed areato e cercare di raffreddarlo il più possibile, bagnare quindi le zone a maggior sensibilità come le zampe e le orecchie con acqua fresca senza però utilizzare ghiaccio o acqua gelata.

Raffreddare, ma non gelare

L’abbassamento improvviso di tempreatura potrebbe causare ulteriori danni e dunque si raccomanda di rinfrescare l’animale nell’attesa di recarsi da un veterinario che potrà meglio disporre una più accurata diagnosi. Importante in casi in cui l’animale è all’esterno, è portare una boccetta d’acqua per idratarlo costantemente.

Nella vita frenetica di tutti i giorni dimenticarsi le cose è la routine, potrebbe capitare anche con i nostri amici, che magari presi da un attimo di rush dimentichiamo il nostro pelosetto in auto.

Che sia all’ombra o alla luce del sole, una macchina lasciata chiusa in piena estate può diventare rovente in poco tempo, per questo se doveste notare un cane in difficoltà chiuso dentro un’auto potrebbe essere necessario richiamare l’attenzione del proprietario o in casi estremi, chiamare le autorità competenti prima di intervenire in prima persona, ricordiamo che tenere un cane chiuso in auto sotto il sole è un reato punibile in base all’articolo 727 del Codice Penale.
